Galvanizing is the process of applying a protective layer of zinc or zinc alloys to a steel or iron surface in order to protect it and prevent corrosion. The most common method is hot dip galvanizing, in which parts or structures are dipped in a bath of molten zinc.
The galvanizing process guarantees ferrous metals and steel ample protection against corrosion and rust. The structures are immersed in a fluid zinc bath at 450°C, which promotes chemical reactions between iron and zinc, with the deposit of a thin protective layer of zinc on the steel.
